Supplies you need
Here are the supplies you need to make your own jar lanterns.
- tissue paper squares ( you may need two sets depending on how big your jar is)
- mod podge
- glass jars
- foam brushes
- googly eyes
- fake small spiders
- hot glue
- tealight flameless candles
- white steamer for the mummy
Step-by- Step Directions on how to make Jar Lanterns
Make your own jar lanterns in just a few simple steps!
Your kids will love making these! Plus, they make an awesome decoration for around the house.
#1: Use a foam paint brush to add mod podge to the front of your jar.
#2: Add on the color tissue paper squares that you want! We made a Frankenstein, pumpkin, and mummy.
#3: To make Frankestein, use green tissue paper squares, hot glue the eyes on, and draw a mouth using Sharpie once the mod podge dries.
#4: If making the mummy, hot glue the eyes in place, then add mod podge to your white streamer and wrap it around the jar.
#5: For the pumpkin, add orange tissue paper squares onto the jar and create a face using black tissue paper you can use mod podge to add the facial features on!
#6: Once everything is dry, add in the tea lights and place them where you want!

I love this craft as a Halloween craft to do with the kids because they will love to see it outside during Trick or Treat!
