Looking for some apple crafts for preschoolers?
I have 15+ fun and easy apple crafts for preschoolers that they will LOVE! These are fun, easy, and perfect to do in the classroom or right at home.
Let’s get started with some apple crafts!
Craft #1: Apple Printing
Using apples is perfect for a fall craft for preschoolers!
The kids get to learn about patterns, use a different method to paint, and use googly eyes! Yes, the googly eyes are the best part :).
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- apples
- a knife
- washable paint
- glue
- googly eyes
- and easel paper
B. Set-up
Cut the apples in half for the kids to use. Make sure it’s smooth so the stamps turn out good on paper.
C. Activity
Start by creating a pattern on the paper. The kids should continue the pattern by dipping the apple in the paint. In the end, let the kids add googly eyes to each of the apples! They can glue them on, or if the paint is wet, they can stick them on the paint!
Craft #2: Handprint Apples
For every article that I write, I have to include a handprint craft. It’s just a must.
This apple craft for preschoolers is adorable and will make the perfect keepsake!
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- cardstock paper
- paint
- paintbrush
- marker
B. Set-up
Paint your little one’s hand either red, green, or yellow!
C. Activity
Have the kids place their hands down on a white sheet of white cardstock paper. Make sure to press their entire hand down on the paper.
We are showing this craft in three different ways. You can do this as a back-to-school craft, letter a apple craft, or a card to give to someone special.
Anyway that you choose to do this apple craft is adorable and super easy.

Craft #3: Ripped Paper Apple Craft
Ripped paper crafts are fun and easy for kids. This is a great apple craft for preschoolers and toddlers!
This is also a wonderful fine motor craft for kids. They will LOVE ripping the paper up into pieces.
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- white cardstock paper
- construction paper
- glue stick

B. Set-up

C. Activity
Have the kids rip pieces of construction paper into small or big pieces!
They can choose between red, green and yellow paper. Once they rip a piece, they can glue it onto the page, or they can rip them all at once then glue them on.
They can color in the stem and leaf, or they can use constriction paper and rip those pieces to create them as well!

Craft #4: Cotton Ball Apple Tree Craft
We love testing out different methods of painting. The kids enjoy using a variety of materials.
For this fall craft, we used cotton balls to create an apple tree! I love the prints that the cotton balls left, it makes it look like a real tree!
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- cardstock paper
- construction paper
- washable paint
- cotton balls
- clothespins
- scissors
- glue stick
B. Set-up
Draw and cut out the trunk of your tree and paste it onto the paper.
C. Activity
Attach a clothespin to a cotton ball and have the kids dip it into green paint.
They will make prints all around the trunk to look like a tree. This is a simple craft for toddlers to try out.
Then, have the kids use their fingers to create apples for the tree. They will dip their finger in red paint and make apples all throughout the tree.
They can even make some at the bottom of the page for apples that fall off the tree.
Craft #5: Toilet Paper Roll Apples
I love making toilet paper roll crafts! It’s amazing what a simple toilet paper roll can turn into.
This apple craft for preschoolers is PERFECT. They will love using some different materials to create an apple.
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- toilet paper rolls
- acrylic paint
- paint brush
- black beans
- hot glue
- cupcake liners
- cardstock paper
B. Set-up
Paint a toilet paper roll white and wait for it to dry!
Since we are using acrylic paint, it takes about 20 minutes to completely dry.
C. Activity
Once the apple core is dry, you can glue on some black beans to the center of the tube. We used hot glue to do this part of the craft.
Then, add on two cupcake liners at the top of the toilet paper roll and at the bottom. The kids can use regular school glue to do this part.
Lastly, the kids ran outside and grabbed 3 small sticks. We hot glued those to the back of the cupcake liner for the stem of the apple. Add on a green leaf made from cardstock paper to finish the apple craft.
Craft #6: Paper Loop Apple Tree
Paper loop crafts are fun and easy for kids to do. It helps them work on cutting, gluing and fine motor skills!
This apple craft for preschoolers is cute and simple for kids to do on a fall day.
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- construction paper
- cardstock paper
- glue stick
- glue
- tissue paper squares
B. Set-up
Create a trunk out of brown constriction paper and paste it down onto white cardstock paper. Then, cut strips of green paper for the loops of the trees.
C. Activity
The kids will grab each side of the paper strip and bring them together to make a loop. They will paste the ends together, then use school glue to them down above the trunk.
Once they get a shape like a tree, they can scrunch up tissue paper squares and glue them onto the tops of the loops for the apples.
This is a fun and simple apple craft for kids!
Craft #7: Parts of an Apple Craft
What a great apple craft for preschoolers! This will go along perfectly with an apple-themed unit.
This is a great way for kids to create and learn. Paper plate crafts are easy for kids to do too!
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- paper plate
- paint/dot markers
- construction paper
- glue stick
- scissors
- FREE parts of an apple words

B. Set-up
Paint the outside of a paper plate red, green, or yellow! We used red dot markers for this activity, but you can use paint as well or even ripped paper.
C. Activity
While the kids are waiting for the outside to dry, they will cut out the parts of the apple words. You can also create the stem, leaf, and flesh of the apple out of construction/cardstock paper.
The kids will glue all the pieces in the correct spot.

Craft #8: Apple Suncatchers
We love making suncatchers. They make really cute decorations around the house or classroom!
Plus, they are really pretty. This apple craft for preschoolers is simple and fun.
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- cardstock paper
- contact paper
- tissue paper squares
- scissors
B. Set-up
Create an apple shape out of cardstock paper. Cut it out and poke the center out using a pencil and scissors to cut.
You can write the kid’s name on the leaf if you are a classroom teacher this is a really cute back-to-school craft to hang up on the windows.
C. Activity
Cut a piece of contact paper and place the apple shape onto it. Then, cut off the extra pieces of contact paper.
Have the kids place tissue paper squares onto the contact paper. They can use one color or multiple tissue paper colors!
Then, cut another piece of contact paper and place it on the side with the tissue paper squares, so they stay on.
Hang these up on the window. These look so pretty in the light!
Craft #9: Fingerprint Apple ResistÂ
I am such a sucker for fingerprint crafts. I love looking at the kid’s fingerprints in crafts. They are the best ones to keep!
This apple craft is for preschoolers is perfect for the first day of school or fall time!

How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- POP! washable paint
- cardstock paper
- free apple template
- marker
- masking tape

B. Set-up
Add paint to a paint tray and grab your paper! We actually tape it down using masking tape, so it doesn’t move.
Lastly, print off my free apple template, cut the image out, and use masking tape to tape it in the center of the paper.
C. Activity
Have the kids dip their fingers in one color of paint and make prints all around the paper. They will repeat this step for each color!
Then, make the kids choose one color to create the apple! They will make fingerprints around the entire apple shape, so it shows up when the image is taken off.
They will make the stem and the leaf the right colors too.
Once they are done, you can peel off the apple shape to show what it looks like underneath! It’s so fun to see the shape revealed.
Lastly, you can add in your little one’s name and a little message if it’s their first day of school! What a sweet keepsake.
Craft #10: All About Me Book
This isn’t an apple craft for preschoolers, but it goes along with the back-to-school theme, which I thought it was perfect for this article.
Plus, it’s a FREE and really awesome resource that the kids will LOVE to create!
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- markers
- crayons
- pencil
- stapler

Print off the pages! Don’t staple them together first, it’s easier to do that at the end!

C. Activity
Have the kids fill out the sheets about them! They will draw, color, and practice writing skills. It’s a great way for kids to write about themselves and for teachers to get to know their students.

Craft #11: Apple Tree Name Craft
This simple name craft is perfect for a fall craft for toddlers and preschoolers.
It’s an adorable way to practice name-building skills!
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- paper
- construction paper
- glue stick
- marker
B. Set-up
Draw the pieces for your tree and the apples out of construction paper. You can cut these pieces out or if your child is old enough, they can cut the pieces out.
C. Activity
The kids can write the letters of their name on the apples or you can do this part if you are working on this skill but your child is too young.
They should paste the pieces of the tree on a white piece of paper first. Then, they will glue the apples on the tree to build their name!
This is a simple craft and a fun way to get some learning skills in!
Craft #12: Fine Motor Apple Crafts
Threading is a great fine motor activity for kids. It helps develop the muscles in their fingers to help them do daily important activities like tying shoes or buttoning shirts.
This apple craft for preschoolers is a great way to build those fine motor skills!
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- pipe cleaners
- pony beads
- scissors
B. Set-up
Starting stringing colored beads onto a pipe cleaner. The kids should work on color-matching skills for this activity!
C. Activity
After they get about half of the beads on the pipe cleaners, you can start bending the pipe cleaners to make an apple shape. You just bend the bottom a little bit and bring the sides up.
Add some more beads on to complete the apple then twist the pipe cleaner closed.
For the stem, cut a brown pipe cleaner and twist it around the top of the apple. Lastly, cut a green pipe cleaner, bend it and attach it to the stem.

Craft #13: Apple Number Puzzles
This apple craft for preschoolers is a great way to work on number recognition and counting.
I love hands-on learning activities like this!
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- cardboard
- acrylic paint
- paint brushes
- black beans
- glue
- box cutter
- marker
B. Set-up
Draw some apple shapes on cardboard, cut them out using a box cutter, and paint them red, green and yellow.
After they dry, use a box cutter to cut each apple in the middle.
C. Activity
Write a number on one side of the apple. Have the kids identify that number, then glue the number of black beans on the other side.
Then, mix up the pieces and see if they can match up the number with the correct amount of black beans!

Craft #14: Apple Sensory Bag
Sensory bags are amazing! They are full of learning opportunities, and they are MESS free!
This apple craft and activity works on fine motor skills, counting, and number recognition! It’s a must-try activity.
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- plastic gallon ziplock bag
- cotton ball
- rubbing alcohol (to remove the label)
- hair gel
- water
- poms
- Sharpies
B. Set-up
To remove the label of the plastic bag, use a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol! Rub the label off and wipe it clean.
Then, use Sharpies to draw apple trees onto the bag. Write a number in each tree.
C. Activity
Dump a bottle of cheap hair gel into the bag. Add 1/3 cup of water in and some red, green, or yellow poms.
Have the kids use their fingers to scoot the correct amount of apples onto each tree!

Craft #15: Letter A Apple Craft
Here’s another fun way to use apple prints to learn! Creating letter collages is a great way for preschoolers to learn the letters of the alphabet.
For the letter A, we did apple printing!
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- cardstock paper
- apples
- washable paint (red, green, and yellow)
- art tray
- knife
B. Set-up
Cut an apple in half using a knife (make sure you are the one doing this part). Make sure both sides of the apple are smooth. Lastly, print and cut out the letters and paste them to cardstock paper.
3. Activity
Let your little one dip the apples into the washable paint on an art tray. They will make prints with the apples on the letter A.

Craft #16: School Color by Code
This color-by-code apple and school supple craft is a fun way for kids to work on numbers!
My son loves the color-by-code printables SO much! They are by far his favorite learning activity.
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need

Print off the sheets that you want to use!
C. Activity
Make sure your child understands how to read the key at the top of the page. Then, they will color each number in the picture based on what the key says.
These are my kid’s favorite out of all the printables I create. They love revealing the picture at the end!

Final Thoughts and Conclusion
Apple crafts are so much fun to do with the kids! It’s actually my favorite time of year to craft. The themes for fall are my favorite.
