Add on the snowman’s accessories before adding on the marshmallows. Then, have the kids use a glue stick to glue these items in place.

Then, the kids add marshmallows around the entire snowman. They can do the outline, or they can fill the snowman’s tummy in!

B. Set-up

Draw a snowman shape with a pencil on blue paper.

Create the snowman’s accessories with construction paper.

C. Activity

Kids will place a clothespin on the poms. We used blue and white paint, so we only needed two clothespins.

They will dip the pom in the paint and fill in the snowman with the white paint. Then, they will add some white and blue paint around the snowman.

Lastly, when the snowman is dry, they can add the accessories to complete the project!

Craft #4: Paper Snowglobe Craft

We did this craft before Christmas time, but it’s perfect for doing throughout winter.

Winter crafting is complete without making some snow globes.

How to do this activity

A. Materials you need

B. Set-up

Create a circle shape out of blue paper and a base out of white paper. Use a glue stick to glue these parts together to make the globe.

Then, create a snowman shape out of white paper. Lastly, make a hat shape out of black paper!

C. Activity

Draw on some eyes, add a nose, mouth, buttons and use a pipe cleaner to be the scarf for the snowman!

Glue on the snowman towards the bottom of the blue area of the globe. Then, the kids can add snow to their globe by using Q-tips to dab on some snow or snow confetti!

Lastly, you can create some Christmas lights at the bottom of the globe by finger painting using washable paint!

B. Set-up

Print off my FREE melted snowman printable! Then, create a puffy paint mixture (equal parts shaving cream and glue).

Create a head for the snowman using paper, googly eyes, and a marker.

C. Activity

Have kids create a melted pile of snow at the top of the page with puffy paint! TIP: I usually have the kids scoop it out using a spoon then spread it using a paintbrush.

Place the snowman’s head on top of the melted pile of snow. Then, the kids can add on buttons and stick arms.

Craft #7: Puffy Paint Snowman

Did you know it only takes two ingredients you most likely have on hand at home to make puffy paint?

Glue and shaving cream. That’s it! Mix, and you got yourself some puffy paint.

B. Set-up

In a bowl, mix 1/4 cup of foam shaving cream and 1/4 cup of white glue. Next, draw three circles on your piece of blue cardstock paper. Lastly, create a snowman hat using black cardstock, as you see above.

C. Activity

Scoop the puffy paint into the circles and have the kids use their fingers to spread the paint into the circles. Have them add on the snowman accessories! Dot some snowballs around the snowman using a paintbrush!

Craft #8: Winter Stick Crafts

Popsicle stick crafts are some of our favorite crafts to do together as a family!

These winter crafts for toddlers are easy, and the kids will love decorating their rooms with these.

How to do this activity

A. Materials you need

B. Set-up

Do all the painting to prep the sticks! The kids can do this part, or you can.

C. Activity

Directions for each of the sticks are below.

1. Snowman- Paint a few sticks white; when they dry, add a little pink paint for cheeks! Then, have the kids use glue to place buttons on for eyes and the mouth!

With orange cardstock paper, cut out a triangle for a nose. Lastly, use hot glue to place poms at the top of the sticks and glue a bent pipe cleaner to make ear muffs!

2. Hot chocolate-Create a semi-circle at the top of the popsicle sticks with a pencil. Paint the bottom half blue and paint the semi-circle brown.

Hot glue a few white poms in the brown section to be the marshmallows. With blue cardstock, create a handle and glue it to the back of the sticks. Lastly, add on snowflake stickers or make your own from paper!

3- Snowflake- Paint 4 sticks white and hot glue them together by creating a cross, then place the others diagonally on each other.

Put some glue on the sticks and dump some glitter on, then shake off the access—lastly, hot glue winter gems at the ends of each stick.

Craft #9: Bottle Cap Snowmen

Bottle caps make the perfect little snowmen!

This snowman craft for toddlers is SUPER fun, and it’s a great way to talk to your kids about reusing materials.

How to do this activity

B. Set-up

Paint a paper plate half dark blue and half light blue. While waiting for it to dry, you can create the snowmen by hot-gluing two or three bottle caps together. The kids can create the faces on a few of the caps.

C. Activity

The kids can glue buttons on each of the snowmen. Then, you can add the pipe cleaners on for arms- they need to be hot glued or taped on.

Glue the snowmen on the plate using hot glue. Then, add a small layer of school glue to the light blue section of the paper plate. Then, have the kids sprinkle some fake snow on the bottom.

Lastly, the kids can fingerpaint some snow at the top of the plate!

Create a circle using a marker on the sponge. Then, cut the circle out using scissors!

C. Activity

We used cardboard for this activity, but you can also use paper! First, make three stamped circle shapes to create a snowman. Then, wait for it to dry.

Add on buttons, googly eyes, a hat, scarf, and a face!

This is such a simple and fun winter craft for kids.

Craft #12: Snowmen Cup Craft

These snowman cups are so fun for toddlers! I love they can play with them after they are done making them.

B. Set-up

Hot glue the poms to the sides of the cups. Then, hot glue the same colored pipe cleaner on the sides to make earmuffs.

The kids will create the snowman’s face! They can use googly eyes or markers to make the eyes. Then, use construction paper to make a nose. Lastly, the kids can use a marker to make the mouth.

Extend this activity by playing a memory game. Hide a toy under one of the cups and have the kids try to guess which one it’s under!

B. Set-up

Draw a circle on cardboard and paint it white. While you are waiting for it to dry, color the pasta and rice!

To do this, you will dump some rice and wheel pasta in separate ziplock bags. Add some acrylic paint to the bag, shake and dump onto an art. The art tray should be covered by parchment paper to make cleaning up easier!

C. Activity

Add a face to the snowman! Then, hot glue poms and a pipe cleaner at the top to make earmuffs for the snowman.

Once the sensory fillers have dried, add a thin layer of school glue to the snowman. Then, the kids will add on the sensory items!

To create the snowman craft, fill the clear ornament with white pom poms.

Plug your hot glue gun in!

C. Activity

Make the face of the snowman by adding googly eyes, a nose, and buttons for a mouth.

Then, hot glue two poms on either side of the pom. Attach a pipe cleaner by hot gluing the ends and sticking them on the side of the pom closest to the ornament.

Place an ornament hook on the pipe cleaner or on the ornament itself!

How to do this activity

A. Materials you need

cardboard
white acrylic paint
white yarn
scrapbook paper
hot glue

box cutter

B. Set-up

Create a circle on cardboard and cut it out using a box cutter. Make a big circle for the body and a smaller circle for the face. Then, paint the circles using white acrylic paint.

C. Activity

Tape the start of the yarn to the back of the circle and have the kids start wrapping until the circle is almost covered. Repeat this step for each circle.

Then, you’ll need to hot glue the two circles together. Cover up the hot glue by creating a scarf for the snowman using scrapbook or cardstock paper. After that, hot glue some arms to the back of the body!

Lastly, you’ll add on the accessories like poms for buttons, googly eyes, buttons for a smile, and a nose! We had a snowman craft kit we got that came with buttons, hats, and nose. I linked it in the materials section.

Create a face in one of the cupcake liners by using googly eyes, construction paper, and a marker!

C. Activity

Use a glue stick to glue three cupcake liners on in a row. Glue two buttons of the other two liners. Then, add some arms for the snowman using a brown marker.

Lastly, you can have the kids use Q-tips and white paint to make snow all around the snowman! It’s a fun way for the kids to paint and the Q-tips make the perfect snowflakes.
