Sun Catcher Directions

It is super easy and fun to make these sun catchers. I do recommend that you do this project in two days to let the glue dry completely.

#1: You need to make black glue! To do this, you will squirt black acrylic paint into an Elmer’s glue bottle. You will shake it up really well and the glue turns black!

(I typically try to use a glue bottle that is about half full or 3/4 full).

#2: Print off my templates if you want to! My templates are FREE you can grab them below

#3: Place a piece of transparent paper on top of my template. Then, the kids will use the black glue bottle to squirt the glue on the lines to trace the images.

*After you complete tracing the images, I suggest placing them in a place where you know they won’t be bothered over night to dry.

#4: Use Sharpies to color in the images! We love the rainbow Sharpies that I linked above.

#5: Cut them out using scissors. Get as close as you can to the edges of the black glue.

#6: Check out your DIY suncatchers!! How beautiful are these? Tape them up on the window and enjoy your creations!
