I have 20+ fun, and easy fall crafts for preschoolers will LOVE! I have a bunch of different themed fall activities included in this article.
Let’s get started with some fall crafts!
Craft #1: Sunflower Noodle Craft
I love sensory crafting. Using noodles to craft is fun, it turns out super cute, and the kids love using different materials to create art.
This fall craft for preschoolers is great for the end of summer and the beginning of the fall season. We love having sunflowers around in August and September.
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- cardboard/paper
- acrylic paint
- ziplock bags
- parchment paper
- art trays
- googly eyes
- glue
- pasta/black beans
B. Set-up
Since there weren’t a ton of pasta noodles, we painted them by hand. I did those along with the kids to help it go a little faster! They had fun painting!
We also painted some black macaroni noodles for the center of one of the sunflowers. You can do this step or use black beans.
While the pasta is drying, you can create the sunflowers on cardboard or paper. Take a bowl and trace it with a pencil for the center. Then, paint the center and add googly eyes!
C. Activity
Paint a stem on each sunflower. Then, glue the pasta noodles around the center of the sunflower.
Once the center of the sunflower is dry, glue on the black beans or black macaroni noodles.
Check out the cutest sensory craft! Once everything is all dry, your kids can feel the noodles! Such a fun craft.

Craft #2: Fork Printed Tree Craft
Making fall tree crafts are my favorite during fall time! You are going to see multiple ways to create trees in this article.
This fall craft for preschoolers is adorable, easy, and perfect for kids!

How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- cardstock paper
- markers
- washable paint
- forks
B. Set-up
Draw a tree trunk using a brown marker and color it in.
C. Activity
Have the kids paint the forks and make prints all around the tree! We used red, orange, yellow, and brown paint!
They can also make some prints at the bottom of the page to look like fallen leaves.
This is a cute and simple fall craft that is PERFECT for toddlers and preschoolers.

Craft #3: Alphabet Pumpkins
Here is the cutest fall craft for preschoolers! This is a fun way for kids to practice the alphabet.
I love simple learning set-ups for kids. All you need is a few supplies you most likely have right at home!
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- cardstock paper
- markers
- clothespins
- poms
- washable paint
B. Set-up
Draw a few rows of pumpkins on a vine on a piece of cardstock paper.
Write the letters of the alphabet in each pumpkin.
C. Activity
The kids will attach a craft pom to a clothespin and dip the pom into the orange paint.
The adult will ask the child to find a specific letter and they will use the pom to paint the inside of that pumpkin! This will continue until all the pumpkins are colored in with the paint.
This is a great way for kids to review the letters of the alphabet in a fun and creative way!

Craft #4: Scarecrow Craft
Scarecrows are the perfect fall craft for preschoolers! I love all the color patterns you can make for the scarecrows.
These are adorable and fun to make throughout the fall season.
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- cardboard
- acrylic paint
- Sharpie
- scrapbook paper
- straw
- glue
- googly eyes
- cardstock paper
B. Set-up
Draw a circle on a piece of cardboard and paint it. While you are letting it dry, you can create the scrapbook paper hats, and noses for the scarecrows.
C. Activity
Create the scarecrow’s face but gluing on googly eyes, a triangle nose, and draw a mouth using a Sharpie marker.
Then, add a thin layer of glue at the top of the circle to add the hay for the hair.
Lastly, glue the hat on the back of the circle! This would make a cute fall decoration for around the house!

Craft #5: Apple Tree Name Craft
This simple name craft is perfect for a fall craft for preschoolers.
It’s an adorable way to practice name-building skills!
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- paper
- construction paper
- glue stick
- marker
B. Set-up
Draw the pieces for your tree and the apples out of construction paper. You can cut these pieces out or if your child is old enough, they can cut the pieces out.
C. Activity
The kids can write the letters of their name on the apples or you can do this part if you are working on this skill but your child is too young.
They should paste the pieces of the tree on a white piece of paper first. Then, they will glue the apples on the tree to build their name!
This is a simple craft and a fun way to get some learning skills in!
Craft #6: Coffee Filter Leaves
I’ll be honest, I didn’t think this activity was going to be as cool as it was. Also, it doesn’t look that amazing until after the leaves dry.
Leaves are the perfect fall craft for preschoolers to create! They will have a blast just scribbling on filters.
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- Coffee filters
- markers
- scissors
- a pencil
- FREE leaf template (optional)
- spray bottle
- art trays

B. Set-up
Scribble on the coffee filters using markers! Then, use a squirt bottle of water to wet the filter (place on an art tray for easy clean up).
C. Activity
Use my free template to trace leaf shapes on the filters when they are dry. Then, cut them out! You can even use these as decor around the house for the fall!

Craft #7: Fall Puffy Paint Crafts
Did you know you could make your own puffy paint with just 3 EASY ingredients?
It only takes 2 minutes to put this fun art activity together for your kids. This is a really fun way to make some fall crafts for preschoolers.
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- cardboard/cardstock paper
- acrylic paint
- googly eyes
- sticks
- foam shaving cream
- glue
- food coloring

B. Set-up
Make the puffy paint by mixing equal parts foam shaving cream and glue in a bowl. We colored our owl green using food coloring, but you can use whatever food coloring you like.
Mix it and create the puffy paint.
C. Activity
Have the kids scoop out the puffy paint from the bowl using a spoon. Then, they will spread it around using a paintbrush.
Wait a few hours for the puffy paint to dry and check out how it feels! It is so fluffy. This is a great sensory craft for kids.

Craft #8: Paper Loop Sunflower Craft
Kids will love this paper flower craft! It’s neat because the flowers really POP out!
If you have a little one that loves to use scissors and glue, this is a perfect craft for them. This was great for my son because he enjoys both of these activities!
A. Materials you need
- cardstock paper
- glue stick
- tape
- scissors
- ruler
- black beans
B. Set-up
Use a ruler to create straight lines on a piece of paper. Cut those out!
C. Activity
Create a loop by connecting the two ends of the strips together and using a glue stick to stick them together.
Make a circle using brown paper to be in the middle of the flower. Start gluing the loops to the middle piece/
Once all your loops are completed and glued to the middle piece you can create the stem from paper!
Add some black beans or sunflower seeds to the center of the flower.

Craft #9: Noodle Pumpkin Craft
Here is another cute pasta fall craft for preschoolers! This one is great for Halloween, Thanksgiving, or just a fall-themed craft.
I love the use of different noodles for this craft too. It was fun using the wheel pasta.
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- cardboard/paper
- acrylic paint
- ziplock bags
- parchment paper
- art trays
- googly eyes
- glue
- pasta (wheel and spiral)
B. Set-up
You can either paint the pasta noodles by hand or you can place them inside a ziplock bag with some acrylic paint and shake it up. Dump out the pasta on parchment paper to let it dry.
The wheel pasta won’t be completely covered with this method because of all the holes in the pasta, so you may have to hand paint the spots it missed!
Then, you can paint the spiral noodles for the leaves of the pumpkins.
While the pasta is drying, you can draw and paint the pumpkins! Add googly eyes and a funny face on each one.
C. Activity
Once the pasta is dry, add a small amount of glue to the noodle and stick it down to the pumpkin around the face you created.
Then, glue down the leaf next to the stem you drew!

Craft #10: Apple Tree Cotton Ball Painting
We love testing out different methods of painting. The kids enjoy using a variety of materials.
For this fall craft for preschoolers, we used cotton balls to create an apple tree! I love the prints that the cotton balls left, it makes it look like a real tree!
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- cardstock paper
- construction paper
- washable paint
- cotton balls
- clothespins
- scissors
- glue stick
B. Set-up
Draw and cut out the trunk of your tree and paste it onto the paper.
C. Activity
Attach a clothespin to a cotton ball and have the kids dip it into green paint.
They will make prints all around the trunk to look like a tree. This is a simple craft for toddlers to try out.
Then, have the kids use their fingers to create apples for the tree. They will dip their finger in red paint and make apples all throughout the tree.
They can even make some at the bottom of the page for apples that fall off the tree.
Craft #11: Fingerprint Fall Tree Craft
Here’s another fall tree craft! This one is my favorite because it has both the kid’s handprint and fingerprints!
It’s the perfect keepsake. We all know we can’t keep all the crafts the kids make, so the special ones make the cut. This is one of them!
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- cardstock paper
- washable paint
- construction paper
- scissors
- glue stick
B. Set-up
Have your little one place their arm on a brown piece of construction paper. Trace their hand and lower arm for the trunk.
Then, cut out the trunk and paste it to white paper!
C. Activity
Add a little brown, yellow, orange, and red paint to a paint tray. Then, have the kids dip their finger in one color and make prints around the trunk.
They will repeat this process for every color you have to make a tree!
This is such an adorable, easy and fun fall craft for kids.
Craft #12: Leaf Hedgehog Craft
Here is a really fun fall craft for preschoolers! I love getting the kids outside to grab some leaves to create art with.
We did this one a little before the leaves started to turn colors, so we painted some. You can paint them or wait till the leaves turn colors and use them just the way they are.
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- leaves
- paint(optional)
- construction paper
- googly eyes
- markers
- pencil
B. Set-up
Head outside and have the kids grab some leaves. Then, draw and cut out a hedgehog shape on construction paper.
C. Activity
If you are painting the leaves, have the kids start to paint them! We used acrylic paint so they would dry quickly.
Once the leaves are dry, have the kids use school glue to paste the leaves onto the hedgehog’s back for the spikes!
This is a great craft for an animal-themed fall activity.
Craft #13: Apple Threading Craft
Threading is a great fine motor activity for kids. It helps develop the muscles in their fingers to help them do daily important activities like tying shoes or buttoning shirts.
Make these cute apples for a fall craft and learning activity.
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- pipe cleaners
- pony beads
- scissors
B. Set-up
Starting stringing colored beads onto a pipe cleaner. The kids should work on color-matching skills for this activity!
C. Activity
After they get about half of the beads on the pipe cleaners, you can start bending the pipe cleaners to make an apple shape. You just bend the bottom a little bit and bring the sides up.
Add some more beads on to complete the apple, then twist the pipe cleaner closed.
For the stem, cut a brown pipe cleaner and twist it around the top of the apple. Lastly, cut a green pipe cleaner, bend it and attach it to the stem.

Craft #14: Pumpkin Seed Counting
Here’s a great way to craft and get some learning in as well!
I love the pumpkin seeds for this craft activity. It’s such a fun way for the kids to practice counting.
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- cardboard/orange cardstock
- paint (optional)
- pumpkin seeds
- glue
- markers
- box cutter
B. Set-up
Draw and cut out pumpkins on a piece of cardboard. If you don’t want to use cardboard, you can just use orange cardstock paper!
Once you have the pumpkin shape, cut it down the center.
C. Activity
Write a number on one side of the pumpkin. Then, have a bowl of pumpkin seeds ready for the kids.
They should tell you the number on the side of the pumpkin before they begin counting. Then, they will count out the pumpkin seeds individually and glue them onto the cardboard/paper.
These can be kept for tactile learning and counting boards! This is such a fun fall craft and activity.

Craft #15: Leaf Fall Tree Craft
You can tell I love my fall tree crafts. Here’s another fun way to make a fall tree. I love this one because you can actually use some leaves from outside!
The kids love going to collect the leaves. They also love revealing the prints.
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- paper
- marker
- washable paint
- leaves
B. Set-up
Draw a tree trunk using a brown marker and fill it in. Then, go collect leaves from outside. Try to choose the same kind of leaves for this activity so it looks the same.
C. Activity
Have the kids paint the leaves and make prints around the tree trunk. I suggest starting from the bottom to make the prints and work your way up around the tree.
We used washable paint for this activity but you can also use acrylic paint.
The kids will love seeing the prints that the leaves make on the paper. This is such a simple and fun fall craft!
Craft #16: Pasta Owl Craft
Pasta crafts are fun for the kids to do! They always turn so cute and colorful.
These owls are perfect for a fall craft for preschoolers! They turn out adorable.
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- cardstock paper
- bow tie pasta
- leaves
- acrylic paint
- paintbrush
- googly eyes
- glue
- art tray
- parchment paper
B. Set-up
Head outside and grab some leaves for the kids to paint! Then, the kids will head inside and paint the leaves.  If it’s fall time and the leaves are already colored, you can skip this part!
Line an art tray with parchment paper. Then, have the kids start painting the bow tie pasta. Since there aren’t that many, they can paint them individually.
If you want it to go a little faster, add the pasta to a ziplock bag, add some acrylic paint inside and shake. You will dump it out to dry, but there will be spots that need to be handpainted due to the shape of the pasta.
C. Activity
Create an owl shape out of cardstock or construction paper. Also, create a beak and feet and have the kids paste them on!
Once the leaves and bow tie pasta are dry, have the kids use school glue to paste these items on!
It takes about 30 minutes for the acrylic paint to fully dry.
Lastly, add on googly eyes and check out your cute owl craft!

Craft #17: Apple Stamping Craft
Using apples is perfect for a fall craft for preschoolers!
The kids get to learn about patterns, use a different method to paint, and use googly eyes! Yes, the googly eyes are the best part :).
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- apples
- a knife
- washable paint
- glue
- googly eyes
- and easel paper
B. Set-up
Cut the apples in half for the kids to use. Make sure it’s smooth, so the stamps turn out good on paper.
C. Activity
Start by creating a pattern on the paper. The kids should continue the pattern by dipping the apple in the paint. In the end, let the kids add googly eyes to each of the apples! They can glue them on, or if the paint is wet, they can stick them on the paint!
Craft #18: Candy Corn Noodle Craft
Candy corn is a staple fall and Halloween candy! Your kids will LOVE making these fun and colorful candy corn crafts.
Using noodles for crafting is fun, and it’s super easy for the kids to do.
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- cardboard/paper
- acrylic paint
- ziplock bags
- parchment paper
- art trays
- googly eyes
- glue
- wheel pasta
B. Set-up

This color-by-code fall craft is a fun way for kids to work on numbers!
My son loves the color-by-code printables SO much! They are by far his favorite learning activity.
How to do this activity

C. Activity
Make sure your child understands how to read the key at the top of the page. Then, they will color each number in the picture based on what the key says.
These are my kid’s favorite out of all the printables I create. They love revealing the picture at the end!

Craft #20: Apple Seed Counting Puzzles
This apple seed activity is a fun math craft for fall!
I love hands-on learning activities like this! It’s a great way to work on number recognition and counting skills.
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- cardboard
- acrylic paint
- paint brushes
- black beans
- glue
- box cutter
- marker
B. Set-up
Draw some apple shapes on cardboard, cut them out using a box cutter, and paint them red, green and yellow.
After they dry, use a box cutter to cut each apple in the middle.
C. Activity
Write a number on one side of the apple. Have the kids identify that number, then glue the number of black beans on the other side.
Then, mix up the pieces and see if they can match up the number with the correct amount of black beans!

Craft #21: Leaf Printing
How fun and colorful are these leaf prints? Painting leaves is a fun fall craft for preschoolers!
My favorite part about this activity is heading out to collect the leaves with the kids. They have so much fun!
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- cardstock paper
- washable paint
- leaves
- paintbrush
- paint tray
B. Set-up
The kids will head outside to collect the leaves for the project! We tried to collect several different kinds so there was a variety on the paper.
C. Activity
The kids will paint the leaves, flip them over on the paper, and press down all around to make sure the entire print shows up.
Slowly peel up the leaf from the paper to reveal the prints. We used rainbow colors for each one, but you can use any color you want.
I think it would be fun to do this again and use fall colors!

Craft #22: Owl Paper Plates
How cool are these paper plate owls? They are easy and such a fun fall craft if you are looking for an animal craft!
I love looking at the owl’s big eyes! Paper plate crafts are simple and fun.
How to do this activity
A. Materials you need
- paper plates
- acrylic paint
- cardstock paper
- glue stick
- hot glue
- acrylic paint marker
B. Set-up
Fold both sides of the paper plate towards the middle of the plate to be the wings. Then, fold down the top of the paper plate to be the head.
Paint your paper plates using acrylic paint! We decided to make our owl brown, but you can choose whatever color you would like!
While the plates are drying, you can create the owl’s eyes and beak out of colored paper.
C. Activity
We hot glued the head down so it would stay down; I would suggest doing this step too! Tape or regular glue won’t have it stay as good.
Add on your eyes and beak using a glue stick or glue!
Lastly, draw on some feathers using an acrylic paint marker. This is the cutest owl craft!

Final Thoughts and Conclusion
Fall crafts for preschoolers are so much fun to do! It’s actually my favorite time of year to craft. The themes for fall are my favorite.
